She has specialized in the field of Home Science Extension Education and has been in the service for a period of 35 years. Sustainable development of women through the formation and functioning of the Self help Groups is her area of interest. She has to her credit number of articles published in the national journals and also has extensive participation in national and international seminars/conference. She has also been in charge of co-ordinating projects sponsored by governmental and non-governmental organizations.

Mrs. Jothimani has specialized in the field of Home Science Extension Education. She has done in-depth work in the area of capacity building of women elected to local bodies. Articles pertaining to the same have been published in the course material document used by the various training agencies

She has specialized in the area of Food Science and Nutrition, and she has special interest in empowering women through creating awareness on health and nutrition. Articles on women’s reproductive health care and rights have been published. Over the years she has also trained women for income generating activites in the area of food preservation and its techniques.

She has specialized in the discipline of Sociology and holds a special interest in economic empowerment of women through training the womenfolk in income generating activities. The documentation work of the Centre is also being carried out by her.
