Certificate Course on
Soft Skills
A certificate on Soft Skills was
inaugurated on 13 August 2007.This course was
formulated with an objective that effective
communication and interpersonal skills are crucial to
increase employment opportunities and to compete
successfully in the professional environment. The soft
skills course provided strong practical orientation to
the students on building and improving their skills in
communication, the effective use of English, business
correspondence, presentations, and time management.
Thirty seven students from different faculties of the
University enrolled for this course from August 2007
to September 2007. Mr. A. Anantha Hariharan of Career
Ladder Consultancy, Coimbatore was the resource person
for this course..
Computer
Literacy Programme
A computer literacy
programme in collaboration with Tulsi Rural Development
Trust, Coimbatore was inaugurated on 22 August 2007 in
Kalampalayam, Thondamuthur Block of Coimbatore District.
Various employment oriented courses namely Microsoft
Office, Desk Top Publishing, Tally and Web Designing are
conducted in four batches every day with duration of one
and a half hour per batch for five days in a week.
Special classes are also organized for school students
on every Saturday. A total of thirty girls have enrolled
for this programme.
